"Adhesive tape offers a solution to a common problem in the industry"

"The old problems growers used to face with repair tapes simply do not exist anymore with PolyRepair®, "says Thomas Thizy with Agripolyane. The company launched their PolyRepair tape three years ago and helped companies all over the world extend the life of their greenhouses.

In 70 years of being in business, the French company Agripolyane has developed a wide range of films for various applications, especially for agriculture, through which Agripolyane has established a name for themselves around the world. Though these products remain at the core of Agripolyane's business, listening to their customers has made them decide to use their experience in the field of Polyethylene films to develop a new product, the adhesive tape named PolyRepair. PolyRepair The reason Agripolyane decided to study and invest in such a development was the frequently received negative reports on other existing products in the market. "Tapes that caused the deterioration of films, or the deterioration of the tape itself, or poor quality of the glue that caused the patch to fall off the plastic within a short time," says Thomas Thizy with Agripolyane.

The two main issues that PolyRepair is addressing are the repair of small unintentional tears that may occur during the installation of a new film and keeping an older film that tears during the growing season in use so cultivation can finish until a proper replacement is found.

"PolyRepair is aimed at repairing mainly greenhouse films but can also be used in other applications necessitating a super strong tape (silage film, wrapping film, livestock and storage building cover, etc.)," Thomas adds.

But what makes this product stand out from the hundreds of adhesive tapes existing today? Thomas explains the base of their product is one of Agripolyane's best-sellers: "A highly UV stabilized, 180mic, Sulfur resistant, clear greenhouse film. In collaboration with a French company specializing in tailor-made industrial glues, we started a two-year process in order to develop the correct adhesive for the product. The result of this process was a clear, UV-stabilized glue with unsurpassed adhesion properties."

"Growers, greenhouse manufacturers, agricultural film dealers, or hobby gardeners all around the world have been using this product for three years now and have been reporting excellent performance. The old problems they used to face with repair tapes simply do not exist anymore with PolyRepair."

Of course, in order to perform as described, PolyRepair needs to be installed in a proper way by making sure the surface is clean (avoid soap and detergents to clean prior to application), dry, and, if possible, by applying one piece of tape on either side of the film to "sandwich" the hole or tear between two layers of tape. If these simple instructions are followed, PolyRepair will seal any plastic while being practically impossible to remove.

The width of the tape is 96mm, and it is offered in 10, 20, or 30m individually packed rolls which, in turn, are packed in boxes of 16, 10, and 6, respectively.

Fruit Logistica Agripolyane will be present at Fruit Logistica this year, where they will display their PolyRepair adhesive tape and many more products. Agripolyane is present in Hall 3.1 – Booth A 36.
